Covers: Retail Department Stores

Shoppers decide fast whether a store feels worth browsing. If the entry mat is soaked, the fitting rooms still hold yesterday's hangers and tags, and the display glass is smeared, people walk out without saying why. Way Beyond Cleaning cleans retail and department stores in Fairfield County and Westchester County after closing, so the floor is ready when you open.

Retail cleaning comes down to floors, glass and the spaces customers use that nobody on your sales floor has time for: fitting rooms, restrooms, the checkout area and the stockroom aisle near the back door. We work around merchandise and displays without rearranging them.

Rich runs the company. He walks the store with you, learns where the traffic is heaviest and writes a scope that reflects how your floor is laid out.

Cleaning around merchandise and store hours

The goods come first. Clothing, cosmetics, electronics and home items can be damaged by overspray or a wet mop at the base of a fixture. We keep products off merchandise, clean carefully around low displays and leave every item where your visual merchandisers placed it.

Seasons change the job. Holiday weeks bring more traffic, more returns and more boxes, while winter brings salt and slush across the entrance. A good retail scope accounts for those swings, with extra attention on floors and entries when the weather turns.

Scheduling

Retail cleaning happens after the store closes or before it opens, since a sales floor can't be mopped with shoppers walking it. Stores with long hours sometimes prefer an early morning visit. During busy seasons, some stores add visits or extend the regular one. We set the days and times together and put them in the proposal.

Questions facility managers ask

Can you clean before we open, rather than after we close?

Either can work. We'll look at your hours and receiving schedule at the walk-through and pick the window that fits best.

Do you clean the fitting rooms?

Yes. Mirrors, benches, hooks and floors, plus picking up the hangers and tags customers leave behind.

We're doing a store refresh with new fixtures. Can you clean up after?

Remodel and post-construction cleanup is part of what we do. Once we know the finish date, we'll walk the space and scope it.

Will you move our displays to clean under them?

Only if you want us to. By default we clean around merchandise and displays. If a fixture needs to come out for floor care, we'll plan it with your store manager first.
